When Chance arrived at our shelter on March 26, 2022, his story broke our hearts. He came to us through a cruelty investigation after a concerned contractor in Sumner County reported an emaciated dog living in deplorable conditions. Locked in a kennel inside a home for nearly two months, Chance was covered in urine and feces, severely underweight, and clearly neglected.
He weighed just 35 pounds. Our veterinary team quickly assessed him and developed a plan to restore his health. Despite his condition, Chance’s spirit was still intact. With time, medical care, and lots of love, his transformation has been incredible. His coat is now shiny and healthy, his sores and rashes healed, and his weight is now perfect.
We named him “Chance” because that’s exactly what he deserved—a second chance at the life every dog should have: one filled with love, kindness, and belly rubs.
